The Season is Over

Losing BaseballI didn’t follow baseball as much as I normally do and I chalked it up to being busy at work. So I sat down Tuesday evening to watch my beloved Giants play the Dodgers on my big screen TV in high definition. After two innings I came to a quick conclusions that the Giants are a really bad team. No they just suck. I think I realize I had subconsciously realized the Giants were going to be bad and just choose to ignore their spring training season. I knew the team in the post Bonds era would be bad, but the sad thing is the team took no effort to get any better after riding Bonds until he broke the home run record. I can almost understand if after Bonds they went with a youth movement and brought up a bunch of young players, much like past seasons with the Marlins and Dbacks. But no, they not only didn’t bring any one up, their line up is made up of really old bad ball players, who will be lucky to stay healthy and generally have a defensive range of a water buffalo in a mud puddle. I feel sorry for the only bright spot of the team, the starting staff. Matt Cain will have 20 games where he gives up 2 or less runs and will lose because the team will not score or they terrible bullpen will blow the game. At least they have a manager that loves older players and won’ play youngsters as they have no youngsters to play.
