Royal Canadian Rockies

Sunset over Vancouver Island

Annette and I are enjoying taking a fall vacation, especially to locations where the tourist crowd has thinned to a crawl, leaving the popular locations to ourselves.  This year we headed off to the Canadian Rockies with a side trip to one of our favorite cities, Vancouver.  This was not a culinary trip.  This was not a cultural trip.  This was a trip to enjoy some spectacular scenery.  From the Bow River Valley to Lake Louise to Yoho National Park to the Icefields Parkway it is hard to imagine a more beautiful place.  The glass like qualities of Lake Louise and Emerald Lake were a great preface to an unbelievable drive on the Icefields Parkway.  The parkway is like driving for a 150 mile Yosemite Valley with ever changing scenery. The slide show attempts to show the beauty of the Rockies, Vancouver and Victoria, but in reality they don’t do it justice.  You are better off taking your own trip to these locations and experience the place in person.  I just hope the pictures wet your appetite.
