Rose Bowl 2008
I know I promised more New Zealand adventures, but my wife and I took advantage of some company perks and attended the Rose Bowl game in Pasadena. We ended up with two tickets at field level just at the corner of the end zone. We got lucky as USC scored twice at our end of the field before the end of the first quarter. We have friends in Pasadena, who offered parking and access to a tailgate party as his company was having a party at the stadium. A long walk to the stadium, some beer and burgers followed by a high energy bowl game is a good way to fill a day. Even though the game got out of hand in the third quarter, the atmosphere at the game kept it exciting. The Illini fans were loud and give up until the forth quarter. The walk back to our car included hanging with some dejected fans, some USC fans that seemed rather uninspired about their victory (in may be getting old hat for them) and a good old druckin’ brawl between some stupid guys. Now I have to find out if I can get tickets to the final four.
