Making the Website more Socially Interactive

As you can tell, I have drastically updated the website over the last few weeks. I wanted to make it a more central place to find all the information, including blog posts, recipes and restaurant reviews. Recipes are no longer found on the Recipe sub domain and are now nicely categorized on this site. My restaurant reviews, while still on Yelp.com, can also be found on this site.

The biggest changes have to do with Twitter and Facebook. Twitter is a great way to send and receive information about your friends or interesting people. If you want to share one of my posts, after you read it, feel free to send a Tweet directly from the ‘tweet this’ button bottom of the post. With the explosion of Facebook for both the younger and newer generation, you can now leave a comment and login using your Facebook login.  After entering your comment, just select to login using the Facebook radio button, then click on the Facebook Connect button and enter your Facebook login.

A more exciting way to communicate on the website is to leave a video comment using Seesmic.  In the comment area, just select to post a video comment and then login to Seesmic with your Twitter credentials and video comment away.  This should be real easy for all you mac users out there.  I cannot wait until we get our first video comment.

Finally, I have gotten a little more serious with my advertisements.  Along with my Google ads, I have added a link to Amazon.  Feel free to order all your Amazon products from my site.  It will help offset some of the sites costs.
